Materials required : 

• cuter or sharp knife
• pliers for making holes

How to proceed:

• measure the length you need 
• unscrew the screw, close to the buckle, you have the belt on one side, the buckle, its fastener and the loop on the other 
• cut this side of the belt (from which you extracted the screw) to the desired size 
• take the piece that has fallen off (the excess) and place it on the belt to mark where to cut a new hole. (to position the screw) 
• make a hole of the same size in the same place on the belt piece.
• Reposition the belt, buckle and loop, and screw everything back in place.

You can also have this operation carried out by your shoemaker.
